Warning to those thinking of purchasing cranes online.
Tadano have been advised that a company selling cranes online in NSW in Australia has sold a counterfeit Tadano crane knowing full well that it was counterfeit. Lawyers acting on behalf of the purchaser sought a refund however have not been successful even though the crane did not contain Tadano parts and was also bearing a serial number plate that may possibly be fake. This is a warning to all companies purchasing cranes to check authenticity before paying for the crane. Excerpt from COF News May 2010

ENZED began life in New Zealand in the mid 1970’s and expanded into Australia in 1981, with the intention of providing a comprehensive hose and fitting service system across all industry sectors. At the time, the hydraulic hose and connector replacement industry operated in a very traditional manner. Machinery and equipment came to a stop with hose assembly failure, which required removal and identification of the damaged part, access to replacement parts and then reassembly. The ENZED solution was to develop comprehensively equipped service centres and then to take service to our customers via mobile hose shops that can make up virtually any replacement hose assembly quickly, reliably and cost effectively on site. Today, ENZED HOSE DOCTOR®’s are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and our service is second to none. Hydraulic boom maintenance for all terrain and rough terrain cranes can often become an afterthought amidst busy work schedules. As TADANO discussed in “Rough Terrain Crane Maintenance and Extreme Working Conditions,” maintenance schedules can often even be accelerated if a crane is working several shifts around the clock.
This is even more important with the pinning style booms that use location sensors and requires more precision than conventional cable extend and retract boom systems. Voidable TransactionsA voidable transaction is where a liquidator can recover payments up to two years prior to a company going into liquidation. This meant that sub-contractors who had been paid for work could have that money recalled by the liquidator under current law.
Sub-contractors took this to the Supreme Court and today the judge ruled in favour of the sub-contractors. Read more here It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Rex Pollock of Pollock & Sons Crane Hire Ltd yesterday morning. Our condolences go out the Cheryl and the family.
